About The Role
We are looking for a dynamic Market Manager with an established record of sales performance with premium spirits brands. You will deliver the company's sales execution standards, brand building initiatives, and business goals with a select group of accounts and with distributors in your region.
The Market Manager role is responsible for the planning, communication, and execution of both our On- and Off-Premise objectives with our distributor partners, and the trade in the assigned territory. You will ensure we are achieving share of mind in key accounts while driving growth and brand awareness through regular interaction, account calls, training, and education. As a Market Manager for 818 and Sprinter Vodka Soda, you will be a local point of contact for distributor Sales Consultants and Area Managers.
This is a field sales role. This position will report directly to the Region Director.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for 818 Tequila and Sprinter Vodka Soda distribution and overall brand exposure in account with the ultimate goal to increase velocity in a set of key accounts as determined by the Region Director
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with individual account owners, managers, and buyers. Leverage relationships to generate opportunities to ensure distributor partners and account stakeholders are trained in 818 sustainability, from product development and supply chain certifications to programs completed
- Conduct regular distributor market work-withs and establish yourself as the point of contact
- Provide best-in-class account management to account partners
- Participate in market surveys, sales blitzes, and events
- Lead and participate in GSMs, weekly, and monthly meetings with distributor teams
- Be a collaborative member of the team through high engagement and supporting team members by sharing successes and best practices and being proactive
- Partner with marketing team to communicate account needs and suggest tools for development
- Conduct analysis on top performing accounts and develop plans on how to grow share in the market
- Consistently utilize internal tools to grow share of mind in accounts such as digital assets, graphics, POS, and VIP to monitor account performance
- Ensure weekly and monthly recaps of the business are completed in a timely manner
- Ensure T&E and activation budgets are carefully utilized and within budget parameters
Key Requirements and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in the beverage alcohol industry
- Experience in on- and off-premise direct sales and distributor management
- Clear understanding of channel management and pricing
- Demonstrated record of success in delivering sales KPI’s and implementing key initiatives
- Well-informed on digital platforms including strong understanding of use of social media in the alcohol space
- Positive track record in managing budgets and maximizing return on investment
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and selling skills
- Strong computer skills including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to grow business in key accounts
- Proven experience in motivating distributor partners
- Ability to be flexible to support other markets which could require travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license and able to drive frequently in territory
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
Working Conditions
- Home/remote office
- Full-time working hours and often non-traditional working hours including evenings and some weekends
- Travel 5-10%
This is a full-time, exempt position. Starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, and education. 818 provides 401k, full health benefits, and flexible PTO.
Pay Band - $75k–$110k
